Reviewed 23 October 2026. Spend X – Money Tracker on Google Play is an Android expense-tracking app by Akanksha. This review distinguishes features described by its publisher from functions independently tested by us. The current listing labels the app “Contains ads.”

What does Spend X offer?

The Google Play description lists expense logging, categories, monthly budgets, visual charts, an AI Financial Advisor, receipt-image upload and custom tags. These are publisher-provided descriptions. The public store page alone cannot prove how reliably each feature works on every device or version.

  • Expense entries and categories: Record daily costs and group them to see where money goes.
  • Monthly budget: The current listing specifically describes setting a monthly limit and following progress. It does not verify daily or weekly budget controls, so check the app before relying on those intervals.
  • Charts: Use the visual breakdown to review patterns in the entries you have made.
  • AI Financial Advisor: The publisher describes personalized saving tips. Treat them as general suggestions, not financial advice or a substitute for checking your own figures.
  • Receipts and tags: The listing describes receipt-image upload for auto-fill and custom transaction tags. Check the result against the receipt before saving.

What changed in the latest listed update?

The current “What’s new” note mentions optional automatic bank and UPI SMS detection, smart expense and income categorization, duplicate protection, clearer privacy controls and stability improvements. An older description of Spend X as entirely manual would therefore be incomplete. If you enable SMS detection, inspect the permission request and privacy information first. Do not assume a bank account must be linked.

Ads, privacy and availability

Google Play currently marks Spend X as containing ads. The publisher-provided Data safety panel says “No data shared with third parties” and “No data collected”; these are developer declarations, not an independent audit. The public listing also does not establish that all financial records remain only on your device or that AI inputs never leave it. Avoid entering PINs, passwords or unnecessary account identifiers, and read the app’s privacy policy and permissions before using receipt or SMS features.

The verified download in this review is the Android Google Play listing. We have not verified whether a desktop or iOS version exists, nor have we independently tested the languages accepted by the AI Advisor. Check the current listing and app interface for those details.

Who may find it useful?

Spend X may suit people who want a manual expense log with categories, charts and a monthly budget, plus publisher-described AI tips and optional SMS detection. Start with a few non-sensitive entries, verify the category totals, and compare them with your own receipts. If you want a simpler manual tracker, see Spend E; its current Google Play listing also says it contains ads.

Verdict

The listed features cover several everyday expense-tracking needs, but the store page cannot establish performance, security guarantees or suitability for every budget. Try the free Android listing, review its ads and permissions, and decide from your own use whether its workflow fits. This is a store-listing review, not a hands-on security assessment.
